Vancouver Christmas Market Outing

On December 6th, our Senior Mental Enrichment Program visited the 2025 Vancouver Christmas Market, enjoying a festive and culturally rich holiday outing. Participants were immersed in the lively atmosphere, where a variety of Christmas performances took place. A highlight of the visit was the impressive 35-foot-tall Christmas tree, beautifully decorated with sparkling lights and serving as a popular spot for photos. Seniors explored over 100 European-style wooden artisan huts, thoughtfully arranged and filled with handcrafted gifts, Christmas decorations, and unique seasonal items. For many participants, this was their first time visiting a German/Austrian Christmas market, so it was very exciting for them. The group enjoyed browsing for special presents to bring home and share the warmth of the holidays with loved ones. They also delighted in traditional German and Austrian cuisine, including juicy bratwurst, hearty gulasch, crispy pretzels, and classic roasted pork knuckle, along with festive drinks such as Glühwein. Overall, the visit offered a memorable celebration of food, culture, and community, providing seniors with a joyful and enriching holiday experience.
