Thanksgiving Farm Visit and Harvest Celebration

On October 11th, in celebration of Thanksgiving, our Senior Mental Enrichment Program visited a local farm in Vancouver for a seasonal and educational outing. During the visit, a volunteer shared the history and cultural significance of Thanksgiving Day with participants, helping them better understand the meaning behind the holiday and its connection to gratitude, community, and harvest traditions. The theme of the day centered on the autumn harvest, as the participants experienced the charm of the farmland and the joy of a bountiful season. They explored the lively farm grounds and enjoyed seasonal highlights such as pumpkin towers, fully ripened pumpkins, and abundant corn harvests, all of which reflected the richness of fall. The outing offered a warm and engaging atmosphere where participants could connect with nature. Overall, the experience provided a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the harvest season while enjoying social connection in a welcoming setting.
