Fraud Prevention Workshop for Seniors

On September 13th, our Senior Mental Enrichment Program hosted a Fraud Prevention Workshop designed specifically to support and protect senior participants. The session focused on raising awareness about common scams targeting older adults, including phone, email, and online AI fraud, and provided practical strategies to recognize warning signs and respond safely. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and real-life examples that made the information easy to understand and relevant to everyday situations. The presenter/facilitator emphasized the importance of staying cautious, protecting personal information, and knowing where to seek help if something feels suspicious. Time was also dedicated to questions and shared experiences, allowing participants to learn from one another in a supportive environment. Overall, the workshop was an empowering and informative experience that strengthened participants’ confidence, promoted safety, and reinforced the value of staying informed and connected within the community.
