Christmas Celebration: Crafts and Canadian Traditions

On December 20th, our Senior Mental Enrichment Program hosted a festive indoor gathering to celebrate the holiday season. Participants enjoyed making simple Christmas crafts, adding a creative and hands-on element to the event. During the gathering, seniors socialized over Christmas-themed refreshments and coffee or tea, sharing warm conversations and laughter. A volunteer provided an engaging overview of Canadian Christmas traditions and explained the history of Boxing Day, offering participants a deeper understanding of Canadian holiday customs. Several seniors also shared their own Christmas stories, bringing personal memories and experiences into the conversation and creating a sense of connection and community. Overall, the event offered a joyful and interactive celebration, blending creativity, learning, and social engagement in the spirit of the season.
